Okachimachi Yoshiike Main Store is a commercial complex located close to JR Okachimachi Station which includes a supermarket, a seafood market, two clothing stores, a handicrafts store, and a dining section.
Yoshiike is a long-established seafood store and supermarket, that first opened in 1920, and that has been based in the Okachimachi area since 1933. In 2014 the main Yoshiike building was rebuilt as a larger commercial complex, with Yoshiike operating a supermarket in the two basement levels, a seafood market on half of the 1st floor, and a dining hall on the 9th floor. Everything in between the 1st and 9th floors is occupied by other tenant businesses. Here’s a brief guide to what you can find on each level.
Yoshiike’s seafood market occupies one half of the 1st floor. Here you can find a variety of fresh fish and shellfish, prepared by professional fish mongers and all sold at super reasonable prices.
Casual clothing company Uniqlo occupies the other half of the 1st floor and the next three floors. You can find clothing for both women and men on the 1st floor, a women’s section on the 2nd floor, a men’s section on the 3rd floor, and clothing for children and babies on the 4th floor.
The 5th and 6th floors are occupied by GU, which is another casual clothing brand, but with cheaper prices and more closely following youth fashion trends. Women’s clothes are on the 5th floor and men’s wear and children’s clothing are on the 6th.
The 7th floor is occupied by Yuzawaya, a fabric and handicraft store with a wide range of colorful textiles, yarns, buttons, beads, sewing machines and other handicraft and dressmaking tools.
The top two floors are the dining floors. On the 8th floor are Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Thai, and Korean restaurants. The 9th floor is occupied by the Yoshiike Dining Hall, which has different sections serving noodles, sushi, and also Western-style food with German beer.
In the 1st basement level (B1) you can find a supermarket. This is where you can find fresh fruit, vegetables, baked goods, a delicatessen, prepared sushi, bento box lunches, and more.
The 2nd basement level (B2) there is a liquor store stocking a wide range of wines, spirits, beers, sake, and other drinks. There is also a general goods store selling all kinds of everyday household products, kitchenware and cleaning products.
